Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish background. Uria is Ryder's younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder relocated with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't have electricity. Ryder, who read a lot at the age of 12, became a bookworm because Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder started taking acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In 1986 she was offered her first role on the big screen in the movie Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder was bullied in the high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress would make a difference. Sadly that didn't happen. Still, she pursued her goal. She got her break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued to play successful roles in a variety of films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running two times for the Academy Awards.
